Spring Awakening – A colorful festival with fine variations.
This year’s spring gala presents itself fresh, cheeky, funny and lively. The European Ballet sets this year on colorful, yet very demanding choreography. Renato Zanella, Peter Breuer, Artur Kolmakov and Michael Fichtenbaum are choreographing a varied, artistically high-quality program. Kristina Chantal, the first soloist of the European ballet, will be fascinating with the waltz solo “Roses from the South”.
The hit of the world star Andrea Bocelli “Be my Love”, danced by Florient Cador and Rachael Carrier is just one of the highlights of this evening. Florient Cador re-choreographs “Libertango” and dances together with Pitta as a tribute to the world tour of Andrea Bocelli. The spirited, Spanish dance style is unmistakably built into the choreography of a Pas de Deux from Don Quixote. This Pas de Deux is danced by Gala Lara and Gabriel Belucci. A soli variation from the romantic ballet “Giselle” dances for you Tamara Alves.
Australian Charlotte Sofield celebrates her debut in the European ballet and wants to win over the audience with “Flower Festival in Ganzano” together with Tiago Neves. With a wink, Renato Zanella confesses: “What would a spring gala be without a surprise highlight? I developed a choreography for the South African Khanya Mandogana. Let yourself be surprised!”
